so wow...

So about 2 and 1/2 years ago my youth pastor announced he was leaving our church to go and be a youth pastor at a church in South Dakota. I couldn't cry at all when he told us...I was just going through shock I guess. Well I came home and needed to write one of my friends about another friend and what happened. So I just went on myspace because I have no clue why. Then went to Jon Steingard's myspace page, which was kinda random cause I would have usually gone to like Hawk's, Jordan's or FF5's. The first song on his player at that time was this song called "Through The Wires". I sat there and bawled. It was really amazing that God spoke to me through that song and I didn't even realize it at that time. Here are the lyrics to it(written by Jon).

Through the Wires

Where do you go when you're alone?
The rain on your face, the wind
and the cold.
You smile cuz you know, you're not far now,
This is your
escape, and everyone knows that.

California seems so far from wherever you are.

I feel like a ghost everywhere I go,
Never really alive, never really
alone.
I need to get back where I belong,
You're becoming a home, and it's
the warmest I've known, but

California seems so far from wherever you are.

Set my heart on fire.
I'll take you in right through the wires.
So
you can make it back inside.
I'll take you in right through the
wires.

It hurts, but I'll try so hard,
To make a mile an inch, make the ocean a
fog.
No matter how warm we keep our hearts,
The atlantic is cold, and it
keeps us apart.

California seems so far from wherever you are.

Set my heart on fire.
I'll take you in right through the wires.
So you
can make it back inside.
I'll take you in right through the wires.

Is this some kind of fantasy, or something that's real to me?

I think that like it just made me realize that I can get through that grief of losing my youth pastor who helped me through so much....even starting to trust him. Go to http://jonathansteingard.blogspot.com/2009/03/come-and-get-it.html then to the music page to get a remix of the song. it is compressed zip so you will have to extract it.

Hi! So I've been a Hawk fan for a little while, but I literally just found out that Jon recorded music independently before he was the lead singer! I have found almost all the songs, except the Ninteeneightythree EP, and a few random songs that I have no idea if they are really his songs, or just a random website pulling names out of nowhere. You say how to download Nineteeneightythree, but since your post, Jon has taken it down. (BTW, Through The Wires is one of my favorites too :) )Do you know of anywhere I can find the EP? Thanks so much for your help!
